PRIOR PROJECT EXPERIENCE · EMERGENCY RESPONSE

Emergency Water Line Repair

Emergency callout involving excavation to locate and expose a water leak, water line replacement, backfill and compaction. Bryan Gallego served as foreman and led field operations while employed by Apex Companies LLC. Asphalt surface restoration was performed by a subcontractor, not self-performed by the field crew.

Completed elevated backflow prevention assembly above finished concrete pad
PRIOR FIELD EXPERIENCE · WATER INFRASTRUCTURE

Backflow Assembly Elevation & Vault Rehabilitation

An existing backflow prevention assembly was situated below grade in a concrete vault, making access for routine inspection and testing difficult. The crew reconfigured and raised the assembly above grade, connected new piping and isolation valves, placed pea gravel backfill within the vault, and completed a concrete surface around the risers.

Bryan Gallego served as foreman, directing the crew and personally performing portions of the field work.

SITE PREPARATION · DEMOLITION & ROUGH GRADING

ADU Driveway Access — Demolition & Rough Grading

Prepared a backyard access corridor for a proposed driveway serving a future accessory dwelling unit (ADU). Work included removing existing concrete pads, demolishing sections of cinder-block and retaining walls, clearing debris, removing soil, and rough grading the area for the next contractor's driveway forming work.

The property owner provided an on-site dumpster for disposal. Bryan Gallego personally performed the demolition, equipment operation, removal, and rough-grading work. The new driveway was not formed, poured, paved, or installed as part of this scope.

C900 replacement pipe and mechanical transition couplings exposed in roadway excavation
PRIOR PROJECT EXPERIENCE · EMERGENCY WATER INFRASTRUCTURE

Emergency Water Main Spot Repair & Roadway Coordination

Following a resident report of water surfacing from the ground, the Apex Companies LLC crew responded to a water leak within the private residential water distribution system maintained under its contract. The team investigated the source, coordinated the necessary shutdown with the City of San Diego water utility, excavated the roadway, removed the damaged section of existing asbestos-cement (AC) water pipe, and installed a C900 replacement section using two mechanical transition couplings. Excavated spoil was removed, imported backfill was placed, and the roadway was temporarily protected with steel road plates while asphalt restoration was scheduled with a subcontractor.

Bryan Gallego served as foreman, organized field personnel and equipment, procured materials after the repair requirements were confirmed, and coordinated the work and restoration schedule. This project was performed during his employment at Apex Companies LLC, not under a Gallego Underground & Civil contract.

Project affiliation: Apex Companies LLC · Role: Foreman · Client context: a private residential infrastructure client · Work: Emergency response, pipe repair, temporary road protection and restoration coordination · Photo publication: Pending written permission and location/security review.
